The Prime Minister Turnbull attended his first event at the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit.

The Prime Minister hosted the Emerging Leaders Roundtable where he led discussions with 30 young social entrepreneurs from ASEAN countries and Australia. It was a forum for open sharing of ideas, insights and aspirations for social enterprise.

The aim of the Roundtable was engage and build influence between future leaders in Australia and Southeast Asia beyond government and it was fitting that the first event the Prime Minister attended at the Special Summit was with the next generation of the region’s Leaders.

Delegates sat together to discuss their shared vision and priorities for the region, with a focus on the role of business innovation in driving social change. Ultimately regional security and prosperity will be driven by mutual respect and understanding between our people, in particular young people and emerging Leaders.

The impacts of social enterprise on communities, beyond the individual,  is diverse and supports a vibrant and open region committed to sharing experience, expertise and knowledge.

These delegates were part of the A2ELP delivered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
